LABORATORY: IMAGEWORK, ACTION AND TEXT
The laboratory ran over two weeks with 10 participating dancers/performers at Forsøgsstationen, May 2014. You can read about our process and reflection in the report, link is right here on this page in the info box.
THE IMPOSSIBLE POINT
The combination work let directly to ”The impossible point”. All participans met it in various ways, and through our reflection, we gathered a number of strategies on how to go beyond it. Verbalizing this together brought me to a further developement of a body of knowledge I had touched on before, opening a door to reaching another level in this work.
A FORM QUESTIONING MEANING AS SUCH
The reflection gave a clearer view upon the work itself and what it can do to an audience. The expression holds a ”strangeness”, that makes the viewer wonder what the performer is doing and why. At the same time the performers´ presence and dedication makes it impossible to just avoid it. This tension between ”not understanding” and yet sensing ”something is going on” could lead to questioning normality, daily life and what we regard as ”meaning”.
